Vocera Wins Three 2014 CEO World Awards for Visionary and Healthcare Achievements
Winners will be honored at SVUS Awards Ceremony in San Francisco on June 29, 2015
SAN JOSE, Calif. - December 17, 2014 - Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE: VCRA), the leading provider of real-time, intelligent communication solutions for mission-critical mobile environments, today announced that Vocera has been awarded three 2014 CEO World Awards in various categories.
The company's chief executive officer, Brent Lang, has been selected as a Visionary CEO Gold Winner for 2014. Additionally, Vocera Care Experience was named a Gold Winner for Best New Healthcare Products, Upgrades and Innovations of the Year. Finally, the company's website, Vocera.com, was selected as a Gold Winner for Best New Healthcare Website of the Year.
The annual CEO World Awards program encompasses the world's best in leadership, innovation, organizational performance, new products and services, CEO case studies, and customer satisfaction programs from every major industry in the world. Organizations from all over the world are eligible to submit nominations including public and private, for-profit and non-profit, and from the largest to smallest organizations.
Visionary CEO Gold Winner Brent Lang has served as the president and CEO of Vocera since June 2013. Having started with the company in 2001, he has worked in many roles, including chief operating officer, executive vice president and vice president of marketing and business development. With deep experience in Vocera's portfolio of technologies, he helped lead the company through its Initial Public Offering in 2012. Lang earned a B.S. in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan and earned an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Vocera Care Experience, 2014 CEO World Awards Gold Winner for Best New Healthcare Products, Upgrades and Innovations of the Year, was developed to help hospitals and health systems streamline communication. Vocera Care Experience is a suite of closed-loop care coordination solutions that combine six technology modules in one application: Vocera Good to Go® Patient Discharge Communication, Care Calls, Care Rounds, Primary Care Physician (PCP) Notifications, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Communication, and Business Intelligence. Facilities that have implemented Vocera Care Experience have seen an increase in Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores and a reduction in readmission rates.
Vocera.com, Gold Winner for Best New Website of the Year in the Healthcare category, was an integral part of Vocera's overall rebranding earlier this year. The website redesign started with a complete restructuring of the existing architecture, content and visual design to provide Vocera's customers and prospects in multiple markets with a fast, contemporary and feature-rich experience that reflects the new branding and marketing strategies.
"It's an honor to be recognized by the CEO World Awards, both personally and for Vocera's superior work and achievements," said Brent Lang. "These awards are a testament to our world-class team and the hard work and dedication they put into the company's mission of empowering healthcare teams through intelligent, real-time communication."
