Shannon Phillips, MD, MPH, FAAP, SFHM, CPPS, is the chief patient safety and experience officer at Intermountain Healthcare, based in Utah. Dr. Phillips’ role encompasses patient and family experience, physician and staff experience, as well as delivering on quality and safety goals. Dr. Phillips also chairs the Experience Innovation Network’s Human-Centered Leadership Council.

Kim’s passions include leadership, entrepreneurship and health care. As Senior Executive Advisor of the Experience Innovation Network she will lead strategic projects, contribute to long term planning and growth, lead transformation councils.

Prior to joining the Experience Innovation Network team, she spent 25 years starting, building, growing, selling and advising technology startups, convening companies, and membership organizations, largely in the health care industry. In these positions, she has led teams and networks of leaders, formed partnerships, created products and inspired forward thinking strategies and scalable solutions. As the former CEO of the National Association of Professionals in Women’s Health and then later the Chief Growth Officer of Health Evolution, Kim has learned the power of communities of leaders coming together to advance thinking and to innovate in health care.

Kim holds an MBA from Kellogg and bachelor’s degrees in English and psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.

She enjoys spending time with her two kids, cuddling with her big furry husky (Miles), running, skiing and all types of outdoor adventures.
