Vocera offers a variety of training classes for partners and end users to ensure positive user experiences. Our rich curriculum leverages knowledge and best practices gained through hundreds of deployments to ensure you are achieving the maximum value from your Vocera installation. Our training program is designed to transfer our knowledge and best practices to you.

Vocera training classes utilize lectures in combination with hands-on lab modules to provide a captivating and effective learning experience.

Course Descriptions

Course Name Course Description

Introduction to Vocera

Prerequisite Course: None
Track: All


This introductory-level class is the foundation of Vocera knowledge. You will learn important information about the Vocera System architecture and key features. You will learn how to operate a Badge and primary Vocera voice commands.

We will discuss how to access Vocera resources and other administrative tasks. And, you will learn about best practices for establishing call flow and work flow processes for your deployment.

4.X Administration

Prerequisite Course: Introduction to Vocera
Track: Technical and Administrator
Required for Authorization: Administrator


This course will teach attendees how to administer and maintain a Vocera Communications System. Attendees will get an overview of the Vocera System architecture and system key features that provide maximum workflow benefits.

You will spend extensive time in the Administration Console learning how effectively use each screen. You will learn how to configure Tiered Administration and perform Data Integrity Checks to ensure the database is clean. The heart of the learning experience is the hands-on creation of the Vocera Medical Center. Attendees will create a real database and configure a Vocera server from customer requirements and through to confirmation of system readiness.

The class will also provide insight into the administrative and reporting functionality of Vocera Report Server. The Vocera Report Server Software is a powerful tool for managing deployments and understanding use patterns of users and groups.

4.X Technology

Prerequisite Course: Introduction to Vocera
Track: Technical
Required for Authorization: Network Engineer

This course will provide network engineers detailed information on the functionality of the Vocera System and requirements of necessary, non-Vocera infrastructure such as Server Hardware, Operating System, PBX (digital and analog), IP infrastructure, wireless and wired. It will expand on topics such as WLAN site survey for VoIP applications (Vocera) using Vocera-sanctioned tools.

Attendees will configure Vocera Clusters as well as DID telephony. This course will provide extensive training of telephony integration, installation of the Vocera Telephony Server and troubleshooting best practices.

Expert End User Training (How to Train End Users)

Introduction to Vocera recommended but not required
Track: Administrator, End User
Required for Authorization: Trainer


This hands-on course will focus on both becoming an expert end user and how to train expert end users. The Expert End User Training course will include numerous use cases, Badge functionality, and the best practices to maximize the benefits of your Vocera System.

For your convenience, we offer several training delivery options:

Vocera HQ Training

Visit Vocera HQ in San Jose, California for immersion training. In addition to training, you will meet Vocera staff from our founders to our engineers.

Customer Onsite Training

Our classes at your facility.
Vocera has created Vocera University to go. Our training staff will work with you to present our curriculum at your facility. Contact us directly to discuss custom/onsite training.
