The Vocera communications system is made up of software and lightweight, mobile hardware in the form of the Vocera B2000 communications badge, the new Vocera smartphone, and the Vocera software client. Designed specifically for busy mobile workers, the Vocera badge, smartphone, and Vocera software client devices allow users to instantly speak with each other and to others, whether down the hall or across campus, via a wireless LAN (802.11 b/g).
B2000 Badge
The Vocera B2000 communications badge is a wearable device that weighs less than two ounces and can easily be clipped to a shirt pocket or worn on a lanyard. It enables instant two-way voice conversation without the need to remember a phone number or use a handset.
Smartphone
The Vocera smartphone shares the same wireless voice interface as the Vocera B2000 communications badge but has the added power of the Microsoft® Windows Mobile 6.1 platform, so users can have instant access to email and third-party business applications.
Software Client
The Vocera software client transforms Windows Mobile® products from Motorola into fully enabled Vocera communication devices, giving them the same functionality available on the Vocera B2000 communications badge.
