Skaneateles Falls, N.Y. (January 16, 2007) — Welch Allyn, a leading manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, today announced it has appointed Julie Shimer, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer, effective March 5, 2007. Shimer was formerly president and CEO of Vocera Communications, Inc., a leading wireless communications company based in Cupertino, Calif. She has been a member of Welch Allyn's board of directors since 2002.

“Ms. Shimer's appointment as president and CEO of Welch Allyn completes a thorough and rigorous search to identify the best possible leader for Welch Allyn, now and into the future,” said Dr. Andrew G.
