Vocera Communications Selects Amy Karabinas Vice President of Engineering
Cupertino, Calif. (January 10, 2005) - Vocera Communications,
a wireless communications company providing instant voice communication solutions
for mobile personnel, selected Amy Karabinas as vice president of engineering
to lead the company’s engineering team in its mission to simplify complex
communications processes into the best customer experience.

Ms. Karabinas will report to CEO Julie Shimer and CTO Rob Shostak.
As vice president of engineering, Ms. Karabinas will manage software, hardware, quality assurance, and documentation teams to achieve timely execution against the company’s product roadmap.

and hardware products. Most recently, she was senior director of engineering
for VMware where she took the company products into the data center with the
highest level of quality. Prior to her position at VMware, she was senior director
for storage system engineering for Sun Microsystems where she directed the
development and test areas for the entire storage systems line. Previously,
she held a variety of highly challenging engineering positions at IBM.
