VOCERA COMMUNICATIONS, INC. PROMOTES BRENT LANG TO PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
San Jose, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2008) - Vocera Communications, Inc., developers of the Vocera Communications System, the only wearable, hands-free, instant voice communication system available on the market, today promoted Brent Lang to President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Mr. Lang's responsibilities include overseeing marketing, business development, engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
Mr. Lang was hired by the company's founders more than six years ago, and has held numerous leadership positions of increasing responsibility within the company including, most recently, Executive Vice President. He will continue to report to Vocera Chairman and CEO Bob Zollars.
"The Board of Directors and I are extremely excited to announce this well-deserved promotion," said Zollars. "Brent has been a key leader in the development of Vocera's market strategy, product roadmap, channel relationships, and virtually every aspect of our high-growth operation."
Before joining Vocera, Mr. Lang worked at 3Com Corporation, where he co founded, the Home Networking Division and spearheaded rapid growth for the organization's Fast Ethernet Network Interface Card business. Prior to 3Com, Brent held a strategy consultant position for Monitor Company, where he advised well known Fortune 500 clients in market entry, segmentation, and competitive analysis.
Mr. Lang graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. He also holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
