Vocera Communications Wins DEMOmobile DEMOgod™ Award
CUPERTINO, Calif. (Sept. 25 2002) - Vocera Communications, Inc. was the winner of a DEMOgod™ award at the DEMOmobile 2002 conference held last week. The company announced availability of its new instant voice communications system designed to improve communications for in-building mobile personnel. The conference focuses on emerging technologies and new products in wireless computing and mobile communications. The award represents excellence in product demonstrations.
The Vocera Communications System improves productivity and increases efficiency by providing instant, hands-free, voice—controlled communications within 802.11b networked buildings or campuses. The System consists of Vocera Server Software, which provides the system's control and intelligence, and Vocera Communications Badges, which operate over a wireless LAN (802.11b). The badge - which weighs less than 2 ounces - includes a microphone and a speaker, LCD readout to display text messages and an 802.11b wireless radio. It can be clipped to a shirt pocket or collar or worn on a lanyard.
